In India it is common to enrich tea with spices such as cloves, ginger, cardamon pods, cinnamon quills and pepper.Saffron and mint are added to many oriental teas and the oil of the Bergamot fruit used to create Earl Grey tea blends has enjoyed vast popularity through out Europe in the last two centuries. Any tea variety can be flavoured to enhance or compliment the character of the tea. To achieve this petals, fruits, vegetable extracts, leaves, nuts, spices, natural flavourings ,essential oils and fragrant blossoms are blended with tea resulting in subtle or robust taste sensations.
