Rooibos tea or “red bush” originates from the leaves of the rooibos plant, a broom like shrubby bush grown in South Africa. The delicate needle like leaves are picked, ground and moistened with water to start the fermentation process. The leaves are then dried in the sun resulting in a tea with a mild taste and red colour. High in antioxidants and minerals, caffeine-free and containing no tannins makes rooibos ideal for the health-conscious individual wanting a delicious and beneficial beverage.
